He's Back!

A Very short and Impromptu post today, but it’s one i had to talk about, As you can tell by the headline, Big Finish has just announced that Christopher Eccleston is returning to his popular role as The Ninth Doctor for 12 (!) Audio adventures starting May 2021!
Now this, for any who fan, is HUGE news. Fans have wanted him back in some capacity for over a very long time. Eccleston hasn't been in the role now for 15 years, he even turned down the chance to appear in the 50th Anniversary special in 2013. So the fact popular audio drama production Big Finish has managed to get him back, for a whole series of new adventures is astounding. Not much has been revealed as of yet, however its bound to be great!
Big Finish Productions was founded in 1996 and they have been making amazing productions based in and around the Who-ni-verse ever since their inception as well as original dramas. This announcement is just another in a very long line of exciting projects they have coming up. They have Torchwood ranges, Adventures with Classic Doctors, Such as the popular Fourth Doctor and even boxsets with The Tenth Doctor (Played by David Tennant), and so much more. They truly have it all.
As dramas go, I cannot recommend Big Finish enough. The quality of the dramas they create are truly outstanding and i easily consider them to be some of the best creators of drama in the industry today. If you want to get stuck into a couple and are unsure where to start, here are two from my huge list of favourites…
Torchwood Series 5 - Aliens Amongst Us - This takes place after Series 4 of miracle day and features the Return of Captain Jack and Gwen as they battle new enemies in Cardiff with a new Torchwood team, Each episode in this 12 episode series is fantastic and really gripping, the series arc keeps you hooked and the twists and turns leave you wanting more!
Doctor Who - The Tenth Doctor Adventures Volume 2 - There are three volumes of Tenth Doctor Adventures so far, which are all very gripping and fun to listen to, however volume 2 is my personal favourite due to the return of Billie Piper as Rose Tyler. The three adventures they are in transport you back to 2006 and feels like nothing in the show has changed, to hear them together really made me happy as a fan!
I could easily go on all day about how great Big Finish is, and how excited i am for many projects they have coming up, Not only are they giving us The Ninth Doctor; they are also giving us a joint adventure with The 4th & 10th Doctors together, a boxset dedicated to River Song and The Tenth Doctor and there new ambitious project TimeLord Victorious (A new Multi-Platform Project starting next month). Big Finish have got many exciting things planned for the future of the Who-ni-Verse and I for one am extremely excited to listen to everything they have to offer.
